Writing, Writing, Writing...
A native of Kentucky, I have loved to write since early childhood. As early as third grade I remember my sister asking my help in writing stories. As a high school student, I served on the staff of
The Hazel Nut, the school newspaper, and was inspired by journalism clinics at the University of Kentucky.
In college I majored in English Education and began teaching high school English. Throughout my career, I honed my own writing skills as I taught them to students and was able to publish several articles and complete one novel.
I enjoyed teaching English for thirty-one years, during which time I received a Masters in Literature and an Education Specialist degree in Leadership. In 2003, I retired and began my real career, writing. Since then I have finished several other projects and now spend much of my time researching potential agents and publishers for my work, attending conferences, writing proposals, and continuing to revise and edit completed works.
In addition to writing, I am active in Toastmasters, the Georgia Council of Teachers of English, the National Council of Teachers of English, and my church in Rome, Georgia. I especially enjoy spending time with my husband, my two daughters and their families, including six grandchildren.
